  • VILLAGE ELECTIONS - MARCH 16 , 2010
    Village elections are scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Village Hall from 12 Noon to 9:00 PM. The terms of Trustees, Jane Monahan, Richard Phillips and Mayor William Van Alstyne expire on March 31, 2010. Registration Day is Saturday, March 6, 2010 from Noon - 5:00 PM at the Village Hall.

    An independent nomination petition for an office to be filled at the time of a general or special election shall be filed not earlier than forty-two days or later than thirty-five days preceding the election.

  • REMINDER - HALLOWEEN CURFEW
    The Village of Kinderhook's Halloween Curfew will be in effect between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM on October 30, 31 and November 1. During this time, any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or responsible person who is over the age of 21, and approved by the child's parent or legal guardian, when in or upon any public street, sidewalk, playground and other public place.

  • PALMER ENGINE AND HOSE CO.
    The Kinderhook Fire Company will be hosting the Columbia County Volunteer Firefighters Association in July, 2014 (for the first time in 30 years).  The Fire Department is accepting donations or fundraising tickets can be purchased from Pete Hunter.

  • GARBAGE REMINDERS
    Both papers and containers will be picked up every Thursday. Please have garbage and recyclables out by 7:00 A.M. to ensure pickup. All bags of garbage must have stickers - red stickers ($2.50) for 30 gal. bags and green stickers ($1.50) for 15 gal. bags. Bags should be placed in covered containers and should not exceed 35 lbs. in weight. All clean recyclables - glass, tin, aluminum, plastics (#'s 1 & 2 only), milk and juice containers - should be recycled. Cardboard boxes should be flattened and tied together with string. All clean paper (newspapers, magazines, tissue boxes and junk mail) can be kept together in a paper bag or tied in small bundles and put out with other recyclables. Please make sure papers are secure so they do not blow around and do not put any recyclables in plastic bags. Oil & antifreeze containers may not be recycled. If you have questions, please contact the Village Hall or Columbia County Solid Waste at 828-2737. Garbage stickers may be obtained at the Village Office during business hours of 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 PM. Stickers are also available at Kinderhook Stewart's. If there is a Thursday holiday, pickup will be on Saturday

  • KINDERHOOK MEMORIAL LIBRARY - Personal Safety Workshop
    The Kinderhook Runners' Club, the Kinderhook Memorial Library, the Town of Stuyvesant, and the Village of Kinderhook have developed a workshop on Personal Safety for People Who Walk, Run, and Bike Alone which will be offered on Sunday, October 25 from 6:00-8:00 PM on the second floor of the Kinderhook Village Hall. The workshop will address how to stay safe while doing what you love, self-defense techniques and equipment, tips for road safety, and perspectives and advice from local athletes. Major Robin Benziger from the New York State Troopers will be a guest speaker. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing to the workshop. For more information, call the Library at 758-6192
